as per a recent report, INR 6000 crores worth of counterfeit products were sold in 2017 till date.<\/em><\/p>\n

These\u00a0items\u00a0can\u00a0range\u00a0from\u00a0bags to shoes and even shades. With\u00a0the\u00a0increase of such activities, brands like Louis Vuitton or Ray-Ban have taken up\u00a0the initiative to open their e-commerce website to contain\u00a0the\u00a0proliferation of counterfeit products everywhere.<\/p>\n

<\/strong>The\u00a0implementation of blockchain\u00a0can\u00a0somewhat\u00a0be\u00a0useful. It tags a product with Radio-frequency identification (RFID) which acts as a unique identity card for\u00a0the\u00a0product since it gets registered in\u00a0the\u00a0ledger where it\u00a0can\u00a0track throughout its supply chain, assuring\u00a0the\u00a0consumers that they\u00a0can\u00a0buy it without any hindrances. With this protocol, product authenticity and anti-diversion are kept at bay.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0dynamic of\u00a0the\u00a0supply chain has changed drastically over\u00a0the\u00a0years.\u00a0The\u00a0process is somewhat more polished and compressed for\u00a0the\u00a0convenience of\u00a0the\u00a0brands and\u00a0the\u00a0respective tracking of\u00a0the\u00a0product.
